Hiking in the Fann Mountains

Hiking in the Fann Mountains

Fann Mountains, Tajikistan

Highlights of this six-day tour hiking in the Fann Mountains are:
– the fantastically beautiful Fann Mountains and the Seven Mountain Lakes
– the very hospitable locals in the villages along the way
– accommodation in the homestays
– as a contrast half a day in the relaxed, green and spacious Dushanbe

Ideally, you combine this travel program with a program in Uzbekistan, since the starting point is near the legendary Uzbek city of Samarkand. More programs in Uzbekistan you can on this website here.

This is primarily a trip with day hikes, but not a trekking. Your luggage is carried in an accompanying car. The program is therefore also suitable for families.

In 2018, a Dutch family with young children made this trip in combination with, among other things, a program in Uzbekistan. If requested, they will be happy to tell you about this, write to us for more information.

From 2022 a visa is not necessary anymore for a visit to Tajikistan for people from many countries!

You can read more about travelling in Tajikistan and in Central Asia here. Including much practical advise.

This six day program hiking in the Fann Mountains starts in the city of Penjikent which is located near the border with Uzbekistan, and near the legendary city of Samarkand. It is therefore natural to combine this program with a trip in Uzbekistan.
If you start in Dushanbe we can also offer the Dushanbe-Penjikent transfer.
Whether you require a transfer from Samarkand or Dushanbe, please write us for an offer.
